Hi, my name is James Friedman and I’ve spent most of my waking hours for the last 17 years solving product, design, and engineering problems. I've founded companies, played pivotal roles in their growth, led dynamic teams, and celebrated numerous successful exits. I've done this across a diverse set of industries including Ed Tech, Public Safety, Business Intelligence, AI and Machine Learning, and various other B2B Enterprise SaaS verticals.

One of my specialties is going from zero to one: taking an idea, concept, or conversation and turning it into reality. I do this by stripping the problem down to its core and identifying the most important thing to solve. While I value research, empathy, and data in decision-making, over the years I've observed many companies become paralyzed by over-analysis. I'm not strictly bound to processes. Instead, I prefer to establish hypotheses early and test them with real users. Embracing failure and learning from it is part of my approach, and I'm confident in making decisions rooted in both data and my experience.

Creation is an act of sheer will.

I've maintained my design, engineering, and product IC chops over the years and still roll up my sleeves when required. In my current role I lead multiple teams responsible for over a dozen distinct products and services. I mentor product owners, provide guidance to the design team, and participate in numerous staff engineering activities. Staying current in these disciplines has empowered me to cultivate collaborative teams and lead them in delivering top-notch products.

As I reflect on my career, it's not the products that stand out, but the incredible individuals and the relationships that built them. I'm privileged to have partnered with the smartest people in their respective rooms, each of whom has enriched my experience and broadened my perspective. Looking forward, I'm eager to take on new challenges, solve the "unsolvable", and continue innovating wherever I may go.
